Yes, “Clear Days” from Time and a Word (1970): YESterdays

Jon Anderson has written a few classic Yes songs by himself. A couple that immediately come to mind include “Astral Traveler” — from later in this sophomore 1970 release, Time and a Word — and, much later, the title track from 1977’s Going For The One.
Sadly, “Clear Days” is not a high point for the world’s greatest progressive rock band.

In fact, there is nothing progressive about the track, which is weighed down by a dirge like orchestral arrangement, flower-power lyrics, and a sappy vocal arrangement. “Clear Days” underscores just how much Yes was still struggling with its identity.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
