JOHN MAYALL: I love to play, it's been exciting and rewarding, and the band I'm with now is the best

"This year we'll have done 134 shows, all over the world. Before the start of the British tour we will be in Russia, and it will be my first time there, so that will be interesting."

Throughout the '60s, The Bluesbreakers, acted as a kind of finishing school for the leading blues-rock musicians of the day. Guitarists Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor were all members, honing their skills before going on to join Cream, Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones.

What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
