Ex-Yes Singer Jon Anderson Expecting a Fun Time at "Raiding the Rock Vault" Vegas Performances

On Friday, founding Yes frontman Jon Anderson begins a five-day stint as a special guest performer in the Las Vegas production Raiding the Rock Vault, which is held at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.  Anderson will sing a few of his former group’s most memorable songs during the multimedia classic-rock-themed show.
Anderson tells ABC News Radio that he initially hesitated when asked by the show’s creators if he’d sing during a segment paying tribute to progressive music, but agreed to take part after mulling it over for a couple of days.
“I thought, ‘Hey, it’ll be fun.  Let’s just do it,’” he explained.  “A lot of people do like Yes music and it’s one of those times when Yes music [is] really coming into fashion again…Progressive music was pretty funky when it happened, and I was part of it.”
Anderson reveals that he’ll be singing “Roundabout,” “Your Move/All Good People” and one more classic song by his old band that he’s letting the Raiding the Rock Vault musicians choose.
“[I figured I'd] let them do what they want to do,” notes the 68-year-old singer, “’cause they’ll be performing the music and I’ll just get up and sing and have a good time.”
Anderson says this will be the first time he’s ever taken part in a Vegas production, while admitting that he’s long thought about creating his own show to put on in the city.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
