Once ridiculed, Rick Wakeman’s supercharged historical epics are about to wow a new generation, he tells John Bungey. As folies de grandeur go, it was one of the grandest. And the tantalising news for lovers of bonkers 1970s rock excess is that Rick Wakeman is hoping to revive The Myths and Legends of King Arthur on Ice — perhaps for its 40th anniversary — with wizards hats, orchestra, choir, galloping knights, Lady Guinevere and all.
