SENOR AYLING'S BIG NIGHT OUT

Q; What does Gonzo Fromage Grande Rob Ayling do on one of his rare days off?

A: he goes to watch Florence and the Machine at the Grand Sierra Hotel.

It's not quite as simple as that, though. Rob has been a fan of the band for ages. I know this because he has been proselytising about them to me with the fervour of a fundamentalist preacher. He first saw Florence on the NME tour where she was third on the bill at Brixton, Academy - then did a photo shoot with her at Hammersmith 2 years ago (see the lower pic).

He banged on about her track "Dogs Days Are Over" (one of his favourite songs of all time) so much that I ended up checking it out for myself. And I have to admit that it is pretty bloody good.

My son-in-law Gavin also is a big fan of the band, so - gentlemen - this is for both of you....

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
